A lot!

A lot has happened since my last post... which is why I haven't blogged for over a week. Derek and I have been busy painting our living room, hanging curtains, carving pumpkins, Road trips, and more! We are getting ready for Halloween this weekend too, I can't wait to dress Hudson up and take TONS of pictures of his 1st Halloween. :-) Hudson is changing so much just this week too, he now grabs his binky from us, and puts it into his own mouth! which is nice if he is playing alone and wants it, we don't have to go over and give it to him because he does it alone now! He is having more blanky time during the day now too, Im trying to incourage him to start rolling on his own, I have recently eliminated his 3rd nap of the day starting about 3 days ago. And the result is he now sleeps 12 hours straight without even needing his binky. Let me tell you it feels amazing to sleep so good at night again! He wakes up in the morning and instead of crying at 8 a.m. He wakes up "talking" to his favorite bear in his crib. I walk into his room to get him and he is seriously laying there smiling and jabbering to him, I love it so much! Puts mommy in a good mood in the mornings:) He also started eating solids about 3 times a day now. For breakfast its bananas and rice mixed, not his favorite. For lunch its avocado, which he can not get enough of!! And then around bed time its just brown rice with formula. I am so glad he is a huge fan of solid foods, and NOT picky! Opening his little mouth and leaning into every bite. We also need to invest into a highchair now that he is on solids, the bouncer just doesn't cut it any more!
Anyway,I could write for days about Hudson.... Life is so good, and I thank my Heavenly father every day for my sweet Hubby and amazing little boy! :-)

6 months

So I must say that I had a few teary-eyed moments today just thinking about the fact that my baby was born 6 months ago today. He gets more interactive, and even cuter every day, but its still so bittersweet at how fast this time has gone by. Hudson has definately blessed and changed our lives forever, and has made us see different sides and angles of life that weren't visible before we had him here with us. We love him so much and hope he always knows it!! ...
He had to go to the Doctor today and get his 6 month shots. He took some tylenol right before we got to the office, and so it was just a quick moment of pain, then I picked him right up and he actually smiled at the nurse who gave him the shots! It was precious, and they were suprised too. He is always smiling so big no matter what his mood is, or where we are! I LOVE it and he makes me cheerful even whenever I am having a hard day.

Kylie's reception and SLC

Derek in awe at the gorgeous Salt Lake TempleI

We had quite the eventful past weekend. Derek had some business to take care of in Salt Lake, and it was also my cousin Kylie's wedding reception on Saturday. Derek Hudson and I took off a day earlier than the rest of my fam so we could do the business in SLC, and also have an extra day to take Hudson walking around Temple Square, and show him some beautiful sights in downtown Salt Lake. It was well worth the extra day being away from home, because the wheather turned out to be perfect that weekend, and Hudson was in a FABULOUS mood! Sleeping through the night every night, and also happy through out the day with minimal naptime. It was just an all-around good, and well needed get away for us all. Here are some pictures from our stay at the Sheraton, and enjoying Saturday morning before we headed to the reception.

Derek's out of town ...

So Yesterday morning Derek and the "guys" left for Halfway Oregon... (wherever that is?), to go spend the rest of the week selling there. I, of course wasn't thrilled at the idea, dreading being home alone at nights, and also just sceptical that it was even going to be worth it for them to drive four hours away just to go selling a product that they could easily sell locally!... So far it hasn't been as bad as I had anticipated though. I think I honestly psych myself out when it comes to being home alone, first of all I am too social to sit home by myself and be content, also Derek and I are just obsessed with spending time with eachother, and also... I am literally still afraid of the dark! ha. Luckily I have a mommy that lives right around the corner from me, who stayed with me last night, and is staying over again tonight to help out and keep me company. We had lots of fun since Derek left actually, yesterday we went to the mall and had a bit of "retail therapy". Plus Emily brought along her new boyfriend, Brandon Berreth, so it was fun getting to know him, and he has great taste in clothing so he was helping Em and I pick cute stuff! Ha , so fun and rare to find a guy that actually LIKES shopping, lol! Derek is the same way :-) Any way, tonight My mom and I went to Middleton to our friend Jessica Session's house to do some fall crafts. Jessica's Husband is way talented and cuts wood into all of these fun Holiday crafts, so tonight we did Pumpkins. He cut the wood, We painted them, added leaves and curly stems, and then sprayed the whole thing with glitter! They turned out soooo cute, and it was such a fun night! I think the crafty side of me is coming out! I find it quite therapeutic, which I never would have guessed that it would have been such a release for me. We also ordered these really cute candy canes and Christmas trees to do next time for Christmas decorations. Im soooo excited to do them. It was nice to get home and have my baby in bed also, thanks to Grampa and Uncle Nick for watching him for me tonight! .... Any way I just got off the phone with Derek, and I guess he got a total of 10 sales between just yesterday and Today, so I guess the trip was pretty worth while after all! Plus he said they are leaving for home first thing in the morning! YAY. So funny how the old saying " distance makes the heart grow fonder," really proves to be true time and again. Can't wait to see you tomorrow BABE!

The Berry Ranch

For a couple weeks now we have been trying to get a good day to go take pictures of Hudson out at the Berry Ranch. It is just such a cute fall backdrop for picture taking since they have all of their corn stocks, hay bails, and wide variety of pumpkins out around the barns and stuff. So my mom, Hudson and I drove out around 2 yesterday and got some pretty cute fall / halloween pictures of my beeb...

happy lil punkin :-)
