My baby is growing up sooo fast! Its bittersweet

Its so bittersweet watching my little angel getting bigger by the day. on one hand its amazing to see how quickly he is developing a little personality, he smiles and is making more sweet sounds every day. Lately, instead of just crying when we put him down for bed, he'll lay awake and make this precious "ohhhhh" noise for a while. I can't believe he is already 14 weeks old!!! I saw a 10 day old baby in church on Sunday and couldn't believe how much smaller he was than Hudson! Sometimes I wish he could just stay this size forever, but its super fun seeing him interacting with us and recognizing us more and more every week. So since the last post, We have had a pretty busy and fun few weeks. We have been to Hell's Canyon twice for boating trips, which Hudson suprisingly enjoyed both times, even riding on the boat!Another event was the Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw concert! It was soooo awesome. Best concert I have ever been too, It was just Derek and I and was so nice to have a really fun night to ourselves.... Also, 2 weeks ago our sweet kitty Yin had a near-death experience as she drank some comet out of our toilet bowl, and we found out 2 days later that she wasn't eating or drinking anymore, so we took her to the vet and they thought she probably wouldn't make it. Of course I was devastated and came home crying to Derek, all of her hospitalization bills were going to be steep if they were going to try and save her, but he said we would pay whatever it took. Thank goodness he also had the idea to give her a blessing that night, and by the next morning she was almost back to normal. They gave her one more full day of being on the IV and fluids, so she would be completely flushed out. Anyway long story short she made a miraculous recovery, thanks to the power of the priesthood......
So we are currently house sitting for the Hortin's while they are in California. Hudson doesn't know what to think of sleeping in a different house at night, he has been waking up at 4 or 5 in the morning instead of his normal 7:30 in the a.m. So we are actually excited to start sleeping at home again at the end of this week! As for everyday life, Derek has been really busy with the business, they are opening a call center at his office which is amazing growth for the company! Were both excited for all of the good news, but Derek is also a LOT more busy now and gone a ton, which means me being home alone quite a bit. Good thing I have a sweet baby to keep me company, and lots of friends and family near by :)!

So here are a few pics from our recent little adventures!...

Hudson's first 4th of July...and first Road trip!

I've been slow lately still trying to find time to blog! But last weekend, the 4th was tons of fun for our little family. We finally got some much needed yard work done at the house on Saturday, planted some flowers, got patio furniture, etc... and Hudson was outside with us in his swing...so cute. Later that night Derek made his famous burgers for everyone and we made homemade vanilla ice cream! YUMMM... one of my favorite "4th" traditions we do. And after that lighting off our little fireworks outside the house was fun too. On Sunday, since it was sunday we didn't do anything too exciting during the day since we had church, but in the evening we drove downtown Boise to Ann Morrison Park where they do the big city fireworks display, and that was awesome, we found a park where only like 3 other people came to watch them, so we had the area to ourselves pretty much! I was half relieved that Hudson slept the whole time, but in a way I wanted him to be able to watch the fireworks with us...I guess next year he'll be old enough to to like them.

Anyway, the rest of the week has been pretty uneventful, other than the fact that Derek has been WAY WAY too busy with work, and I miss my husband being home. But atleast he's making progress with the business, so I have to be thankful he is so willing to work hard to support us!.. Luckily however, we got to get away for the weekend and come to Utah for our yearly Nish/Stokes Reunion. We left EARLY on Friday morning to beat the heat driving down. My sweet little boy just slept peacefully the whole way and was perfect. When we got to the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to walk into the jacuzzi suite that my dad had booked for us! It's very nice, and Hudsy enjoyed a nice jacuzzi bath with his mommy.... he lovvvved it! The jets in the tub must have reminded him of being in my tummy or something. So sweet <3. He slept pretty well until 5 a.m. in his bed we brought for him, and then he slept between Derek and I for the rest of the night! Let me tell you cuddling in a king sized bed is a LOT more enjoyable then in a queen! Derek agrees we need one if Hudson keeps sleeping by us :-) .... So today we woke up, derek brought me breakfast, and we got ready and went to the reunion which was in Logan. It was lots of fun showing Hudson off to everyone who hadn't met him yet. He was in a good mood and he smiled and laughed for everyone.. We had fun and ate WAY too much delicious food... the best part was just napping under a tree in the park and Derek not having to anwer his phone 500 times a minute! Love getting away! :)

Happy Birthday Hudson!... Your two months old today!

He was born two months ago already! And obviously I've been a little slow on getting around to blogging about our amazing miracle since he joined us. Everything has been so amazing since then, live has felt more complete, he is so fun to just stare at and snuggle all day long! enjoy these pictures that tell the story of his birth day better than me.

He's so easy to stare at for hours on end ...

Great Great Grandma LaRae came to see him at the hospital.

Sweet and beautiful since day one...

Hudson has already been developing and changing so quickly! Some sweet things he has just been doing at 2 months old, are socially smiling (not just in his sleep)... cooing, and sleeping aleast 6 to 7 hours straight at night time, on average! :-) We love you sweet angel boy and are trying not to let every minute slip away so fast! Don't grow up too quickly sweet puppy, we want to remember every minute of your precious life.

A month old already...

first day home... snuggling on our bed :)

So I feel a little guilty because I haven't blogged AT ALL for a month... and it just so happens to be the first month of my baby's life. Even though I have been pretty dang busy with my little Hudson, I still wish I had been keeping up on this more because I want to remember everything about having him, bringing him home, and having him here with us FINALLY for the past 4 weeks.
To start with, he was born April 21st, at 7:21 p.m.. The day before his birth, spent the day walking around the mall, eating pizza, and getting a pedicure. All things which I was told could possibly induce labor. So I don't know if that had anything to do with me going into labor, or if it was just "time". At any rate, I started with pretty heavy contractions at around 7:30 the night of the 20th. I decided that they weren't consistant enough to be true labor, so decided to go to bed for the night. At around 4:30 that morning I woke up with hard contractions that were 5 minutes apart, so I told Derek it was time to go to the hospital. We got there around 5, and they hooked me up to the heart rate and contractions monitor... only to tell me that my contractions weren't close enough or strong enough, and to walk around the hospital for an HOUR to see if that made me progress at all... after about 20 minutes of walking, I had had enough, Derek and I went back upstairs to tell them that I couldn't walk any more due to pain. The nurse gave me a huggeee shot for pain and to help me sleep, and discharged me so I could go home and "get some rest". Well, I was definately in labor, and I ended up laboring at home for about 5 hours alone. Finally 11:00 am. rolls around and I was 3 minutes apart and was breathing through every contraction. Derek and I raged back to the hospital, and the nurse told me I was definately in labor, and that I was progressed enough to get the epidural right away. :-) ... All I remember after that pretty much was that my family arrived, hung out with us for a little while in the Delivery room, as soon as I got the epidural I fell asleep for quite a few hours, and then the nurse woke me up and told me I was dilated to a 9, and It was almost time to push. Derek and my mom were the only ones in the room besides the nurses and Dr. Hodges.I pushed for about and hour and 45 minutes (thats what Derek told me, I don't remember)...I didn't know how close I was to delivering, until the doctor told me to reach down and get my baby. I almost thought he was kidding, but I reached down and touched my warm, precious, soft, and amazing new born baby boy, Hudson... and pulled him right up onto my chest. Derek and I were both emotional, and it was an amazing experience. The best day of both of our lives. We are so glad you are here with us Hudson, you are so wonderful and the best blessing mommy and daddy have ever recieved. Thank you for coming to us, and making our lives so meaningful! We love you forever.

more maternity pics...

I saw this poem in my last birthing class and fell in love with it's meaning... so sweet and true :-)

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow

But children grow up,

as I’ve learned to my sorrow.

So quiet down cobwebs,

Dust go to sleep!

I’m rocking my baby

and babies don’t keep.

Doc Appointment...2 1/2 weeks til due date!

So this morning is another weekly baby-bump check up. I am soooo anxious to see if I have dilated and effaced any more! Last week it was 50% effaced, and 1/2 centimeter dilated....so basicaly it better be 3 centimeters now because I have been having all of these spuratic contractions all day yesterday, and also all night! I just wish they were a little bit more consistent :-). So if nothing has changed at the doc this morning I need some tips and tricks for getting the ball rolling here! I just want to hold him, I've been waiting so long, even though his due date isn't for like another 2 and 1/2 weeks...it could still happen! :-)
My bags are packed, and his car seat is strapped into the car waiting to bring my baby boy home.
